About Us

The SBUSD Virtual Academy was established in 2020 as a school of choice for families that would like their child(ren) to attend virtually rather than in person.  SBUSD Virtual Academy is one of the 13 schools in the South Bay Union School District serving students in grades transitional kindergarten through six.  Our school is housed at 525 3rd Street, Imperial Beach, CA. less than a half-mile from the Pacific Ocean and about 6 miles north of the Mexican border.  School support resources include speech; Education Specialist; Psychologist; Nurse; and an Administration center.

SITE SPECIALIZATION

Students will participate in an engaging and personalized learning experience through virtual means. Elements of inquiry and project-based learning will be combined with both live instruction and recorded lessons from content-specialist and fully credentialed teachers. Students will have opportunities to work independently and in district-supported curricular programs throughout the day.
